We’re excited to announce that Defense.Net was recognized by Network World magazine as one of the 12 hot security start-ups to watch in 2014.
Over the last year we’ve witnessed a dramatic increase in the scale and complexity of DDoS attacks on businesses and critical infrastructure. This threat becomes even more perilous as society grows more dependent on the Internet and “always on” connectivity. A growing number of actors, even nation-states, are now using DDoS attacks as modern weapons of warfare as the ease of access to sophisticated attack tools has advanced to a level where a botnet than can do millions of dollars of damage within minutes can be rented for a mere $7 per hour. This has proliferated a weapon that was previously in the domain of sophisticated cybercriminals to a wide audience with varying motivations for attacking a website, email servers or other critical assets.
